How to add filename as a caption to clips

I have a series of images to which I need to automatically add the filename, as a caption on the clip.

I've tried using 'Text Effects', but I'm not seeing an option for 'add filename'.

There's no provision for that. Suggest using the text editor.

Right-click the clip in the bin, click Properties and copy the name.

From the toolbar, Add Text | Plain Text and paste.

On the timeline drag the text clip's boundaries to fit the image length. The three-second default can be changed in Options | Media tab.

Thank you, borate. But since I have over 300 clips in this video project, manually adding the filename as text is not practical. I'm looking for an automated way of doing.

Similar to how you can 'select all' clips, then apply an effect -- instead of manually applying an effect to each one.

I am simply hoping for a feature that would allow me to supply a filename to all my selected clips, in some way.
