How do I import a WAV file into BeatMaker

It seemed to work once just by opening the file like you would expect but I couldn't play it for some reason so I started again now it doesnt seem to want to load.

Also I keep getting a message saying "The working region starts at the end of your last pattern" adjust working region. Anybody have a clue?
