Making only one section of the audio higher in volume

Hi,

So this video someone did has the first section that's very loud, & then the rest very low.

How do I increase the volume so only the low part is at par (sort of) to the first part?

Select the clip that's soft, then apply the AMPLIFY effect, setting it to a higher level. You might also try the NORMALIZE effect.

If you make a mistake click <ctrl-Z> to go back step-by-step.

If it's multiple clips that need changing, select them all, apply the effect, then click green checkmark button on the effects toolbar to apply it to all...

There aren't 2 clips, it's one clip or I should say it's one video with 2 clips joined together (I assume), so I don't know how to just get the soft part without highlighting the very loud part at the beginning.

Make a split where the cursor is parked in your image, which creates a new clip. Then apply the audio effect to only the clip that has the low volume.

So you mean put the low volume part on a different track? Or is there a way to just change the volume on that piece once you split it?

No need to add a track

In this case, once split there will be two clips - the one at the left with normal volume and the one at the right with low volume.

Click the icon on the one at the right and apply the effect.

The waveform on the timeline won't reflect the change, but the meters at the left will, and you will hear it.
