Like many others, I bought Pixillion as it said it could convert .jpg and .png files to .SVG files - which I could then use to scale the images I create as needed.
I looked through many of the entries here in the forum and found a couple of tidbits that I used to try and get this to work, but the results were not great!
I am trying to convert some graphic files that I have created into something that I can scale up for art purposes. I started with a larger file that was 8in x 8in x 600 DPI, which created an SVG file, but when I tried to open the file gave me this message: This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.", and it showed no document tree.
After reading that the software would not take a jpg file over 300 dpi, I converted the file to an 8in x 8in x 300 dpi file and tried again selecting Full Vectorizaton. This time it created a file that had something in it, but not usable - it was a two color vector with no detail, and only two colors - which were not even a huge part of the original picture!
I tried it again, this time selecting Vector Art. This time I got a picture that resembled the original, but was grainier and over-all worse than the original JPG image!
Does Pixillion REALLY convert to SVG?
I am also going to open a ticket with Technical Support.... but am very disappointed with the promised conversion capabilities of Pixillion!
