I use Reaper to do recording of audio files in WAV format, both guitar and voice. I recently purchased WavePad to use as my editing software as my old copy of Adobe Audition will no longer work on Win11. My issue is that if I edit a file in WavePad that was recorded with Reaper, and save that file, it is now a different size. So if I haven't edited the guitar track, for example, the edited vocal file is no longer lined up with the guitar track. I can edit the guitar track in WP and save with no changes, and it will line up with the edited vocal track, but if I have a project with many tracks I don't want to have to edit and save each track just to get them to sync up. All files are in WAV format. Is there a reason that WP WAV files are different from Reaper WAV files? Hope this makes sense.
Edit: I recorded a voice new file in Reaper and edited it in WP and saved as a different name. Files are the same. Then I made changes to the file in Reaper and edited the changed file in WP, sent it back into Reaper, and the WP edited file was the same size, that is, it match time wise to the unedited file. I recently updated my OS to Win11 and am wondering if Win11 treats the older Wave files differently. Frustrating because I was going to work on some older projects from Reaper and would likely need to edit some of the old WAV files in WP.
