It's rare, but the Soxdec issue was reported here. There's no indication of a virus.
Take a few minutes to share the project, as described in that post, and someone will check it out.
If using Google Drive, don't forget to change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view."
Exported files are saved in the folder that you specify in the export dialog box... 
You might also try uninstaling most traces of Videopad, using this free tool. Scan and delete all registry entries that it finds. Then reinstall.
If you were attempting a Windows operating system restore, and it failed, try first switching to Safe Mode.
