Strange colors at the top of exported video

Hello,

Running Videopad version 17.02 on a Windows 10 machine. My exported video has a horizontal bar with strange colors at the top of every frame. The bar is about 1/20th of the height of the video. The bar has only green and pink in the color.

Any ideas?

What are your PC's specs: CPU/GPU/RAM?

Install the current release.

The link you sent in your reply is for version 17.02, which is the version that I'm using.

I just paid for my membership earlier this week.

I installed 17.02 again.

Now the horizontal colored line appears in the clip preview for every clip. The clips play fine with windows media player.

Any ideas?

Did you install 17.02 from the above link? That's the 64-bit release. You may have the 32 instead.

Open OPTIONS | ADVANCED. In the bottom GPU area, change the default to None (CPU only) and restart Videopad. Please report results.

Hi,

I did install from the link. I have the 64 bit release.

GPU was already set to none.

The videos with the line problems are .MOV files. I tried the same clips as .MP4 files and the line is gone, they are fine.

I guess I have to convert all the clips to .MP4 files?

Specs are below:

Let's see the project just as it is - with MOV files. That's the best way to track down issues. Just follow these steps closely and we'll take a look...

Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER.
Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. No need to upload the individual VPJ or export file.
Get link --- Right-click the file and click SHARE. If using Google, right-click the file, click SHARE | SHARE. Change "restricted" to "anyone ... can view"
Share --- Click COPY LINK or OK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately. It won't be shared.

* Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.

If using Google Drive, don't forget to change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."

Perhaps it's something to do with my iphone. I brought some older .mov files into Videopad and there is no horizontal colored bar at the top, either in the clip view or the timeline view. I brought both an older .mov and recent .mov into the same project and the older .mov has the colored bars while the newer one does not. Both .mov clips show no colored bars when played with Windows media player.

Do you still want me to load a project to Google Drive?

Please do. Or at the least, share two files - one that has the issue and another that does not.

This may help the developers pinpoint the problem.
