Icon Clip Volume

I use Mixpad on two PCs. On one PC I see this symbol for each clip to change the volume. I do not have this icon on the other PC. Can anyone tell me where I can activate/show the icon? I don't mean the horizontal line in the middle of each track, but the small symbol at the bottom left of each clip. Unfortunately I can't post a screenshot here.

No, this information does not help me and does not seem to be correct, because I can change the volume for the respective clip via this symbol. If I click on the symbol, a loudspeaker with + and i appears and I can then set the overall volume of the clip. But how do I activate this symbol? I have the latest version and only see it in version 12.5

Are you saying that each PC has a different Mixpad version, and that only 12.5 shows the icon? What's the other version #?

Have you reinstalled the program? The current release is 13.00+. Give it a try.

It's still unclear if the same release is on both PCs - the release that has the icon. If not, make it so.

And if you tried a reinstall on the PC where the icon doesn't appear.

The older version has it, the current one does not. Can you tell me what this symbol is called or where I can find it?

In 13.00 the volume of the clip can be adjusted by dragging the squares. Perhaps this is new. Mouse over a square and the level will be shown.

That said, each time a program is installed (no need to re-download) there can be subtle UI changes. Reinstall several times to see if this is the case here. The icon and slider did reappear on a subsequent install of 13.00.

Version 13 removed that volume control at the clip level.
I love using the volume control. I would like it back please.

As mentioned above, reinstall - up to five times - and look at each install to see if the control reappears. No need to UNinstall or download again.

File a suggestion by clicking the caret at the top-right of the interface, which will produce a drop-down menu.

It worked. Reinstalling from the same DMG package fixed it.

It is very strange that an app feature is made available upon re-executing the installation process. There must be something 'silly' that the MixPad package is going during installation that can (silently) fail. Reminds me of "On Error Resume Next" ... for those old Visual Basic programmers in the late 1990s.

@[deleted] You installed the software, then uninstalled it again, then reinstalled it and then the volume sign came back on its own? Which version did you install?

Some NCH product features and operation will vary slightly with each install - of the same release. This isn't a fault.

Do you mean that the function is not installed or installed incorrectly or that the function is included in one version and not included in the other? Do you know whether this function should be included regularly and can this function be activated somewhere in ‘Settings’? Maybe I'm just missing a tick in the right place in the newer version. I would be surprised if this function is removed in a music programme.

It is common for NCH apps when installed to subtly enable/disable certain features for test evaluation. Reinstalling, sometimes repeatedly, may cause a feature to reappear. There's no user setting; you're not missing anything.

When a specific function proves popular, it may then be incorporated more permanently into the program.

Click the caret at the top-right of the MP window for a drop-down menu that has options to report bugs or make suggestions.
