How to pan sound from right to left on MixPad without sliding?

Hi, I find the sliders on MixPad really difficult to use and if I want to check whether the slider is on 0 it is almost impossible to do without sliding it, even so slightly. What can I do? Another thing, when I want to record vocals, if the settings are on Stereo the recording is only on the left, if I set on Mono it records on both sides. I have asked MixPad this but they never answered. Seems the wrong way around? What do you think?

For the vocals issue, is yours a single-channel microphone? In most cases, stereo wouldn't be needed as the voice is a single-channel source. If that's the case, than Mixpad behavior is likely correct. You may need to use a splitter to feed the same signal to both channels if set to Stereo.

For a more detailed view of the volume slider, expand the track vertically. Click the caret...

Even if it's slightly above zero, nothing will be heard.

Hi Borate, many thanks for your reply. Not sure how to answer your reply directly, so I hope you get it. Yes, my microphone is single channel. It makes sense then. What I find strange is that when it is on mono the voice appears on both sides of the headphones, when it is on Stereo, always on the left side and panning makes no difference. Need to make sure that it is on Mono. The problem sometimes is that if there was a backing track there before, then it is on Stereo and if I don't see it, it is a recording that needs to be deleted.

As far as the panning goes, I have them all expanded. The problem is that if I want to see where the slider is, hovering on the top does not help. I have to click on it and as soon as I do that it changes and if I want to bring it to the middle again, It is extremely difficult and time consuming. I was wondering if there was somewhere where one could fill in the values by hand and easily see where it is exactly.

If the slider control rectangular handle is hovered (no mouse buttons pressed) doesn't a pop up appear listing the volume (gain).

If there is left channel audio only, then panning right lowers its gain. But right channel audio is absent, so panning fully to the right will be silent. This is correct behavior.

But I am talking about the little bar to the right........... The one that brings the sound more to the right or more to the left. Would that one work that way too? I don't think so. Maybe I didn't explain myself well? But thanks for your reply!

The bar to the right is for panning and works as explained above. It too has a pop up when moused over.

If there's audio only on the left channel, then panning to the far right would result in silence. If audio is only at the right, then panning left would be silent.

Do you maybe have the latest version of MixPad? Because on mine, on the laptop, if you over it, it does nothing. You really have to press on it and then slide right or left, with both, but when you do that, obviously, even if you move ever so slightly you have already moved away from wherever it was. It does not seem right. So basically you never really know where it was and have to trust that when you open a new project, it is on 0 and never touch it.

As far as the Mono for recording vocals, why, if you have it set on Stereo, records mono?

Maybe you meant that when you hover above you can see the values, not move the slider? You can do that only with the volume slider, not the Pan left and right, not in mine. What is you see is: Stereo Left Righ Pan Playback Volume.

If the input is single channel and the MP setting is stereo, then the single channel will be left only. If MP is set to MONO, then both channels will be recorded.

Pop ups in the latest release still work as before, both for volume ... and balance. You are mousing-over the wrong spot.

Don't click the mouse or move the slider.
