Hi Borate yes it is true that the old NCH Video Editor won't open on its designated password. Never mind about that as everything else works excellent with this new Video Editor except the extremely bad buffering.
Let me explain again what I have noticed.
Suppose I only edited a word in Text or edited a video clip or add a Photo. In that case, it takes 3 minutes to carry out the buffering on 10 minutes of already edited video.
This is the problem only and it is annoying.
SO....
So I went to Task Manager and opened up Performances in the headings as you do and then watched as I did a bit of editing in the program and then all of a sudden as explained, the Buffering window opened and the drag started etc. On observing my CPU it was reaching at 100% drainage but the GPU was just using about 6 to 10% usage.
Now, naturally, I go and do some investigation and see that My CPU is well underpowered and my GPU does seem to be ok.
My CPU is - Intel(R) Core(TM) I7-2600 CPU @3.4GHZ. - according to the net not enough cores!
My GPU is - Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Hmm I suggest there could be something wrong but does not go any higher than 16% when buffering only in video editor.
My Memory - 16GB DDR3 RAM seems to be enough to carry out a fairly smooth video viewing but 32 GB of RAM would be better no doubt.
This leads to, "it appears what your Computer was capable of doing 4 years ago does not mean it is powerful enough to carry out the Video editing of today because the Video Editing Programs have been updated to take more energy out of your Computer"
So seeing that some of the people above are having trouble with buffering I would like to see NCH come clean and tell the potential buyers of NCH VIdeo Editing program what is needed to drive the Video Editing program on your computer??
I believe the Program is quite a good program with no-nonsense frills but good for quality video editing, then they would be the leaders in the Video Editing market.
