How to start / edit / export 9:16 ?

I searched and could not find any answers, thank you for responding.

1) How do I start a new project in 9:16?

2) How do I export in 9:16?

I have an immediate need to create 9:16 videos for use on various social media channels. One of my projects is to take 3 different 16:9 videos and position them vertically in a 9:16 frame. Any help how to do that would be appreciated. Thank you.

I found out how to do this, but the program became very laggy and un responsive. It was also very hard to move the videos on top of each other as the bottom video was not able to be moved so I had to add another video (4 in total) so the top 3 could be moved around, but the bottom one could not, so I simply hid the bottom video. I would not recommend anyone trying to do this.

One approach...

Right-click each clip in the bin (top-left) and Change Aspect Ratio to Letterbox | 9:16.

Place those clips on the timeline, one track atop the other.

Use the Position effect to move the track one clip to the bottom of the frame and the track 3 clip to the top of the frame.

Export at 9:16. This example used a teal color background on track one, with the clips on tracks 2-4.

Test this release. For one-time licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date.
