Clip speed envelope

I am trying to sync a clip to music by adjusting clip speed, and there are parts where Im trying to get subject's lips synced to the vocals in the audio. It seems like the only option to change clip speed is in the "Change Clip Speed...." menu after you right clip said clip. I realize I can split my clip and change every part's speed separately, but that sounds like an insanely time consuming and painful task. Is there a way to use the Speed Change plugin and at least draw an envelope? Or any alternative to syncing video to audio?

Is there audio on the subject's lip clip as well as on the vocal clip - recorded concurrently? If so...

Stack the two clips on separate tracks, right-click on an audio track and Sync Audio.

The Change Speed feature has no keyframing capability, but it's been requested.
