No audio on exported MP4

Johnxi

I have created a video clip On videopad V12 and added an MP3 audio file to the audio track and it plays perfectly on the video pad editor. However when I save it as an MP4 file the video plays fine but there is no audio. What am I missing?

Install this Windows release and see if that changes the result.

For one-time licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee is required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If there's an issue, you can always revert.

And if the newest version or whatever that is downloaded from the link (this Windows release) you sent me, if it doesn't fix my problem then do I get a refund. I've already bought two earlier versions for a lot less money I must say than the $59.95 that you want now. This does not seem the proper way to respond to a user's problem.

You're dealing mainly with other users here in this peer support forum - not company employees. There's no mandate to update if the version you have is doing the job. A newer release can always be test driven, even if it's not licensed. There's a six-month free upgrade window from the time of purchase.

Did the linked release solve the issue? If not, please share the project so others can analyze it. The process isn't difficult, and usually results in a fix.

Just follow these instructions to the letter...

Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER.
Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file.
Get link --- Right-click the file and click SHARE. If using Google, right-click the file, click SHARE | SHARE. Change "restricted" to "anyone ... can view"
Share --- Click COPY LINK or OK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately. It won't be shared.

* Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.

As for refunds.

Thank you for your reply. After much searching and analyzing I have found that the problem lay with the audio reproduction software, the VLC media player, so NCH's fine VideoPad editor V12 remains unsullied. I hope it remains serviceable as I am very disappointed in the price increases which I paid, $US29.95 for V12 9/20/2022 - and an upate in 2023 forVideoPad Video Editor Home Edition $US39.95 (up 50%) and now in 2024, not paid and unlikely to do so at $59.99, another 50% increase. But I suspect that Borate is an AI generated response and therefore nobody really cares.

No, borate is a fellow user, just like you.

As mentioned above, if you have purchased a one-time license (as opposed to a subscription) there's no need to update, and your version won't expire. Most are maintenance releases, with few changes.

There's also a limited feature free release available via a link on the main WEBsite.

Johnxi

I apologize for considering you an AI function, however in some ways it should be considered a compliment. Thank you for the fast responses and the information regarding updates and a limited free release.

Regards,

John A.
