Hi all,

(version 3.07 running on a vmware box XPsp2, Also tried on regular hardware)

Im trying to get IVM Answering attendant to work with Voipbuster.

IVM runs behind a hardware nat router, with ports 5060 and 8000 - 8010 forwarded to the server IVM runs on. I have entered the external ip and ports manually. Also the account details are set.

After pressing OK, the service registers fine. But no calls are answered.

When i install the Voipbuster Client, the software works. Even without port forwarding.

When i try another provider: Sip.ritstele.com with account set and settings made (port 38383 forwarded to the pc ivm runs on), i cant get the service to register. The account registers fine on a Voip hardware router, but not with IVM. (When i try to register with IVM, the account on the router is ofcourse not present).

Anyone any idea??

Well after days of trying i found out that it sometimes works. But most of the time IVM is not a stable voip platform and after a restart of the program Voip works again for 1 or 2 calls. After that no calls get trough.

When i use the Voipbuster application everything works fine. So it has to lie in the ivm application

I was wondering if somebody has found already a solution for this problem. I run into it as well. When I call after the first or second time it tells me that my Voipbusteraccount is not online.

This sounds like a problem with re-registration.

Some VoIP services think that you are trying to register two devices for the same account, will stop allowing calls to go through.

On the other hand, if the program doesn't register often enough, the service may think it has just kind of gone over time, and will assume it's no longer there.

My understanding is that NCH's software is supposed to re-regsiter as often as the service requests, but I knew I had the same exact problem with a service called FreeDigits (which is no longer in service, however still provides already registered users with the old service) that originally kept stop answering calls after a while, but if I closed and opened the program it would work again.

After talking directly with the NCH development team, I was able to get the problem fixed for the next version of the software (which luckily was coming out in only a few days).
