cbreemer Recent versions of VP have introduced an annoying change with text clips. When I change a text clip, the change is not reflected in the sequence preview until I remove the text clip from the timeline and re-add it. Very inconvenient. Would this be a deliberate change or a bug ? This worked fine for many years until I upgraded from version 13.67 to 16.28. Still a problem in 16.38 too.
borate Not seeing that here in version 16.38 (64). Changes made in the text editor are immediately seen in Sequence preview. Record_2024_09_14_06_14_22_42.mp4
cbreemer Thanks for your reply. I now found that that changes were not showing because my text clip had the Scroll Bottom to Top effect. When I remove that, it is ok as you also found. This makes it is bit less annoying. Still, in older versions it was not like this, changes were reflected immediately even with a scroll effect. Surely this is a bug ?
borate Behavior seems to be the same back to version 13.09. When the text window is accessed the preview switches to Clip. If the Sequence tab is clicked, the text is displayed in the PV window.
cbreemer I've been doing the same procedure hundreds of times and I am positive that something changed between 13.67 and 16.28. I know for a fact that they'd been fiddling with the text editor, because suddenly in 16.28 I had to click a new "Edit" button to be able to see and edit the text clip. That was mighty annoying already, but luckily it seems to have been rectified in 16.38. The non-update problem hasn't, though. I'll send you a very small project demonstrating the issue.
borate What's seen in preview, for a scroll, is related to red cursor placement. Drag it over the text clip. Double-clicking on the text track clip will open the editor. Please describe the 'non update' issue in a new thread.
cbreemer Hmmm... seems we're not in agreement about what my issue is. And I could not export my project because with the recent version my registration was no longer valid 😒 But never mind, I have reverted back to 13.67, re-registered with my code, and all is fine. Thanks for your attention.
