Why do I have to choose "Run as Administrator" to open the VideoPad program?

Why cant it open just with double click like all other programs?

Videopad does not run with double click. It runs only when I choose "Run as Administrator". I run it on a PC and I am always logged in as administrator only. Why doesnt it open like all other executable programs. Can someone advice on how to overcome this

That should not be required. Try installing the latest 64-bit release.

The version I am using is 13.8 dated 11th Dec 2023. I suppose it is 64 bit version ony.
I have been using Videopad since more than two years (from 2022)

Initially, I did not face this problem. But I started facing this problem only recently.

I even tried uninstalling Videopad and reinstalling it afresh. But that didn't work either.

Any idea, what could be causing this problem?

Not really.

Right-click Videopad.exe and choose PROPERTIES. Under the Compatibility tab tick the Run As Administrator box. Click OK. That should take care of it.

Click Menu | HELP | ABOUT VIDEOPAD. If it doesn't say "64-bit", then it's the 32.

Thanks, I have already checked the "Run this program as an Adminsitrator" option in the compatibility Tab of Program Properties.

Can you share the screenshot of the About Videopad Window, to understand what to see on my computer.

The 64-bit release would look like this... If "64bit" isn't there, then it's the 32-bit release.

You can share a link to an image or file. Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, right-click the link and Share. Copy the result and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view.**

If checking the "Run As Administrator" box didn't solve the problem, try installing the latest release.

Thank you for all the help. Still that did not solve the problem.

Finally, I figured out that it was my C Drive which was causing the problem.
When I installed the Videopad on my D Drive then it solved the problem. Now the program runs with simple double click.

Now I have to figure out why it did not work on C Drive, while all other programs are working fine on C Drive. Why only videopad is not working there. Hope i will figure it out also soon.

Glad it worked out. VP installs only to the C:\ drive, so it's surprising that it worked for you on D:\.

Apparently, your PC configuration is behind this. But some things were never meant to be known.😌
