Why is the preview for the first clip of the sequence stuck on a single image

Greetings.

I am using VideoPad VideoEditor Professional v16.04.

Overall, I've been quite dissatisfied with VideoEditor's reliability. It seems I keep struggling with basic functionality with each new release. For example, I have a problematic project and video files on a OneDrive share at Singing. While adding additional videos to this project, the sequence preview for the first clip of video is stuck on a single image. So, when I play the sequence within VideoEditor, I get a still image for the first 12 seconds (with the audio playing normally) until the sequence gets to the next clip. When I export the video as an MP4, the audio and video of the first clip exports fine. But the sequence doesn't play in VideoEditor properly.

Any thoughts?

Update to the current release. Even if unlicensed it will be fully functional for a trial period.

For one-time licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee is required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If there's an issue, you can always revert.

If that doesn't solve the problem, come back here.

The current release installed v16.26, which was able to install and register without having to purchase another license. So, that was good. The current release also fixed the problem I posted about above. I'm glad that it resolved the problem, but, I've been using Videopad for years and it's always been rock solid. But the last few releases have been really buggy.

I also tried the current release v16.26 with another problematic project I've had the last couple days. This project had 4 cross fade transitions in it. No matter what I tried, the 1st cross fade transition never worked when exporting to MP4. It did work inside VideoPad sequence preview, but not when exporting to MP4. The other 3 cross fades worked fine. Updating to v16.26 fixed this problem as well.

There's never a mandate to update, so if a release is working well for you stick with it.

Newer versions can always be test driven, whether licensed or not.
