finwin OK. I have my movie. When I add scrolling text, it scrolls in a text box, like an image, before or after the movie, or else the movie stops while the text is scrolling on a blank screen. Can I get the text to scroll onscreen as the video plays?
borate The text editor creates an overlay clip (on a higher track), to be superimposed over the video. The longer the text clip, the slower the scroll. Use the Editor Background option... Untitled.mp4
finwin Thanks Borate. Yes, I want my text to superimpose over the video, as the video is playing. That Editor Background still gives me a separate image which displays and scrolls first on its own, after which my video starts.
borate Should be working just fine... Place the text clip above the desired video. Share the project and someone will take a look. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. Right-click the file and click SHARE. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
finwin Got it! I had left the Background Opacity set at 100%, so I saw no movie. I changed it to various levels, and it came through. I'm playing around now with various levels, the lower the Background Opacity, the stronger the video. Thanks for your help.
