I've been a musician since age 10 in the year of our Lord 1980. I began recording my first legit drum tracks in a real studio at 17. To say that I understand the audio properties of a wide range of instruments and microphones is an understatement.
That said, I cannot figure out for the life of me how YouTube content creators are getting such a rich sounding vocal presentation with mics that are positioned out of frame, using standard video/audio software.
I have gear that most of those people don't even know exists, and the closest I can get to that level of quality is using a cheap, wired, USB lavaliere mic that I bought ages ago for the purpose of recording work notes related to various projects that my employer had placed in my wheelhouse.
So how are you setting up your sound, and someone please "cloud" drive me a link to your most effective starting point template.
Thanks,
J.
