Continuous Indexing

Hi Borate,

Every single time I have gone to export a video from video pad, it indexes up to about 37.5% and then restarts. Generally I have to restart the application, choose a new format of exporting e.g. custom, HD XYZ, YouTube XYZ…

It’s never consistent with which one works, it just happens that eventually one will work & continue on to “position..” and begin the export.

Tonight I’m really frustrated as it’s been over an hour of attempting different ways, trying to wait out the continuous index, restarting the app, my computer, updating the app. After I’ve essentially pulled an all nighter to get my video edited on time & now it feels useless as I cannot at all export it.

Honestly, I’m just so frustrated with this one feature & it’s making me consider switching to a different application because I cannot put up with this when having deadlines etc.

Please tell me what is causing this bug & how to resolve it.

I currently have version 13.8

PS. Sorry to sound like a painful person, but this bug has been extremely painful since I ever started with VideoPad.

Close the program. Reopen, but do not load the project. Go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Then reload the project.

Test the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee is required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If there's an issue, you can always revert.

Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER.
Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file.
Get link --- Get a public link. Right-click the file and click SHARE. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view"
Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared.

* Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
