Skip over selection

Hi all

Is it possible to skip over a selected part of a waveform?

When editing speech recordings can I listen to the finished edit before committing to the delete of the selected area?

I know that I can listen to the selected area only, but that’s the part I don’t want to hear, I want a preview of the edit if you see what I mean.
