Stereo, Mono, and DAW functionality.

Hello to all!
I've been using VP on and off for 3 years and I just purchased the latest version. I made this not too terribly expensive investment as I am starting a content channel/project, and wanted the newest version of VP to assure that I had the most options and tools from this NCH program.
For those of you who have a background in DAW software as I do, you know that it is business as usual that your track channels can go from mono to stereo and vice-versa with the "push" of a single button that comes standard issue on every program from every manufacturer.
So my question is; where is this function located in Videopad because surely NCH did not design this program in such a way as to expect their customers to make a second software investment in Wavepad or Mixpad just to get a standard function that comes with even free software like Audacity, right?...

Sorry, wrong. VP doesn't have that functionality. But you can suggest it... https://www.nch.com.au/suggestions/index.html?software=VideoPad

That said, right-click the audio clip and Edit With Wavepad (when available). WP displays the file. Click Stereo at the bottom of the window and convert to mono.

Exit WP with the X at the top-right. The file will be placed on the VP timeline. You can then unlink (if necessary), delete the original and slip the video into place.

To return to stereo, find the mono file in the PC's MUSIC folder and use Wavepad to make it stereo. Then import into VP.

And now all of the work I did in the older version is playing 3 times as fast and out of sync. Clearly this was a great idea on my part.

Likely a setting. Never have seen anything like that reported here.

Share a project or file that does this and someone will take a look. It's easy, can be private, and takes only a few minutes. Follow this procedure...

Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER.
Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file.
Get link --- Get a public link. Right-click the file and click SHARE. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view"
Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared.

* Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.

Thanks for sharing. No speed or sync issues noted here, using the current release.

However, there's a little bug during some transitions, which tend to hang midway. It has been reported.

To work around it you might use this release. Ignore any virus warnings.

No need to uninstall what you're running now.

Thank you. Before I get into the version you've sent, I'm going to re-install my original just too see if it still works like it always did. If nothing else, I'll make videos of the template work I created and copy the edit settings for the various clips with animated images and text etc. Though it's going to be another time consuming issue of many, I'd rather recreate those things in 16.1 and just move on. This program serves its purpose well enough but if my work becomes self-sustaining, I'll more than likely make an investment in a premium editor program just as I will upgrade my camera to one of the Sony units.

Videopad should handle this type of project very well. And videos edited in 16.1 will load in later releases...

For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee is required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If there's an issue, you can always revert.

A saved project can be loaded into an active project via FILE | IMPORT CLIPS FROM ANOTHER PROJECT. The clips will be added to a new sequence, and can be copied to the active sequence. Placeholders can also be programmed. See the ? HELP file.

Yes, all of my previous work in 8.95 works flawlessly.

I moved all projects off of the Seagate Tera and onto the main SSD, reinstalled 16.1, and so far there's been no synch or timing issues.
