where does the new audio turn up?

I'm confused. I have two issues...

I record an audio track (followed directions but once I record something I can't find it. Where does the recording go?

Also, how do i get more of my project to show up? The display just shows the first few minutes and I would like to see more

Hi there. The recording/file doesn't go anywhere until you export it as an audio file via Save/File> Export.

To further explain my issues... I am trying to use Mixpad to record a radio show I produce. One track is for my microphone breaks other tracks are for songs. The display only shows the first 2 minutes. I would like to see everything so far recorded and insert my mic breaks and songs where I want them. Should I be using a different program to do this? I feel like I'm missing something, so any help would be appreciated.
