Convert audio tape to mp3???

Hi all:

I'm a newbie that doesn't even understand most of what you all are talking about and probably never will. What I want to do is probably simple compared to what you all do!!!

Here it is (based on what some friends have told me):

I want to plug in my tape player to my computer (I understand I need a cable to do this) and then I want to download (upload? rip?) my audio tapes onto the computer and save/convert them into mp3.

I do have a wave to mp3 converter software on my computer and I know how to use it, but I don't know how to get the tape info onto the computer. does this software do that?

just connect the tapeplayer to the line-in of your soundcard

start wavepad, select line-in for recording

push the red-dot for recording

as soon as you stop recording, the square-button, wave-pad shows you the results after you clicked the X in the right-top of the smallscreen

Then you see the result in the wavepad screen and you can edit and save it as an

mp3 file

You have to convert the .mp3 to a .wav format. Then burn the .wav files to a CD.

Most CD players will not recognize the mp3 format.

Yes, I used this process this weekend. Record and create a .wav. Use buring software like Roxie or Easy CD Creator to create music CD - just select the .wav files you recorded.

You don't even have to do an mp3 to wav conversion, it does all the converting for you.
