Fiscal Year End

Running 10.14 on Mac. Changing the Fiscal Year End appears to have no effect whatsoever. In fact when i change it and then go back in to Preferences --> Accounting, the Fiscal year date is set to what it originally was. Don't understand it at all. Does anyone know how to actually change that date?

Worked out the problem. Trying to set date to more than twelve months on.
