Editing section of audio

I have an hour long video in which there are a couple of low-level audio sections. How can I increase the audio level of these sections without changing the audio level of the rest of the video?

Several methods can accomplish that...

Split-out the sections, then apply the AMPLIFY effect to them.

Or double-click the audio track. The waveform becomes visible in preview.

Drag the blue line up to increase the gain in areas where it's low. Each time the line is moved a keyframe (dot) is created. They can also be dragged.

Thanks, Borate - tried the second option and worked well. I expected to see the waveform change to reflect the new level but never mind, the outcome is what was needed.

Glad it worked out. Note that the changes in amplitude are also reflected on the audio track itself, though the waveform doesn't change...
