At current I have an outdated PBX System that is in 8 sites. I have one voicemail server for the entire system which until recently was working flawlessly. Now being the IT person for these sites I get called in to fix the problem. Go figure!
I find out NEC doesn't support this system anymore, and I can understand why; being on an OS/2 environment. The box I currently have has 4-4 port dialogic cards older than my cats. So I have 16 voicemail lines. The box also has a serial interface to the NEC system; to my understanding is to have the little light on my telephones at all my locations to be on if you have a voicemail.
Now my questions are these:
Does IVM offer a similair 'serial connection' as my current VMail box does?
Has anyone succesfully connected a IVM box up to an NEC 2000 system?
I will have more questions, but these two are the most important. If you have answered yes to number two can you elaborate?
Thanks ahead of time,
Jamie
