Processing audio takes forever when importing video

It happens sometimes, not always. In such case I've to restart VP and do the import all over again to the sequence. Usually that solves the problem. Dunno why.

What format are the bulk of the project files?

Share your project. Just follow these steps closely...

Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER.
Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file.
Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view"
Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared.

* Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.

Sometimes it is even the VP intro template itself. Sometimes a mp4 video file. It's random. The same file can be totally fine by the next time I start VP.

It's unclear why that would be, but hardware may be an issue. Prior to loading a new project, click OPTIONS | DISC tab and Clear Unused Cache Files.

Most of the time it works alright. Just very occasionally the audio will takes forever to process.

Just audio files and a few stills there. But it loaded fully almost instantaneously as tested in several VP versions.

Yes. most of the time it works perfectly. that's why I said it's very random.

Clear cache files prior to loading. And consider upgrading your PC.^_

What VP version? Try the latest. When you refer to "process" is this processing in preview on the sequence or when the project is exported?

For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.

If no change, share a project that exhibits this behavior. Follow the usual steps as shown in an earlier reply.
