.m4a lossless

The .m4a format, as I understand it, is supposed to be Apple Lossless. And, when I told Switch to convert to .m4a, it did make files with the .m4a extension. But, what it actually seemd to create was an AAC file, with compression. I wanted the lossless .m4a. What do I need to do?

You can just do this in iTunes and save all the trouble.
