converting Mp3 to .wav using Mac

I'm using the trial version of Switch for the Mac, and have an Mp3 file that I have converted to a .wav. Everything goes smoothly, and the new .wav file shows up in the folder with the other. However, when I attempt to play it in Itunes, it looks like it's playing, but there is no sound. Can anyone help?

Since you already have iTunes, why don't you just convert it in there?
