Updating Clips on a Sequence with Effects Applied to the Video File

If I add an effect(s) to a Video File (right click on the file in the Video files window and add a video effect), can I get all the clips using that file on the sequence to update with that effect? Or do I have to do them all separately?

Note that clips have already been placed on the aequence.
