Possibly a software issue. File system? But you did chkdsk. You might run Windows Memory Diagnostic. Type that term into the left-bottom search area.
MS will likely suggest reinstalling Windows - a typical cure-all. Or you can upgrade to 2004 if not already in residence. Please clue us in when the fix is found.
