Song editing/shortening: can I do a 'fade in'?

I have a 9min20sec song and I want to cut out the first 66 seconds of intro music.

Can I do a "fade in" (not just an abrupt clip and edit) somehow? I'm using the free version of WavePad software that I have just found on the 'net and downloaded.

Thanks in advance if you could explain how it's done!

Highlight the first 66 sec or so, and select Fade In in the Effects menu.

Hi,

I would just go to the point I want my music to start at (stop at that point) and then go to Edit/trim start.

Then Save your file.

Easy!!
