Stereo Panning Problem

I reopened a project where everything was perfect when I saved it. Upon reopening the stereo panning doesn't work properly on either audio file. When I pan full left, the sound remains center, and when I pan full right, the sound disappears. Can anyone explain what might be going on and how to fix it?
