Please help me turn off Metronome

I do voice recordings with clients via Skype they have their audio recorded.
However the Metronome sound is so annoying and I can't turn it off because I can't locate the button for it which the NCH website says is supposed to be on the toolbar.
Well I have looked all over the toolbar and found nothing. I honestly despise this program now.

Never mind I found where it was
it wasn't on the toolbar as stated by NCH
It was under Menu > Control > Record

then at the bottom of that list is Turn Metronome On / Off

Thank you so much for telling me where to turn that off. The user manual just telling you to look for a button was not very helpful. NCH please add this information to your documentation. Also NCH why would metronome on be the default?

Every time I go and turn on (or off) the metronome, it stays on. Driving me crazy and finding a replacement app instead of using NCH.

This problem has been addressed in the updated version of WavePad. (https://www.nch.com.au/wavepad/versions.html. Clicking the "Windows Download" link will download version 10.04 - latest release). Sorry for the inconvenience.

I want to use a metronome but it does not appear in my program. I can't find it under options. I have version 10.42 Please advise where to find it. Thanks, Glenn

I see it's not a new problem but I've just downloaded Wavebar and can't turn metronome off. I've tried both the Toolbar icon and going through Menu - Control - Record and neither works. It wont even let me turn volume down,

Any suggestions please ?

'Wavebar' is apparently not an NCH product. Did you mean WavePad?

In WavePad, the metronome is controlled from the main toolbar and can be toggled off so it stops clicking while you record or play back audio.

Quick way to turn it off

Look at the main toolbar at the top of WavePad’s window and find the metronome icon (usually a small metronome-shaped symbol or something labeled Metronome).
Click that icon once; this switches the metronome off so it no longer ticks during playback or recording.

If the metronome still plays

Make sure you are changing the setting in the project you are actually recording in, since the metronome is a per-session feature.
After toggling the icon off, stop and restart playback/recording to confirm the click has disappeared.

I've done all that. I've deleted the programme and was going to reload. The metronome STILL PLAYS even though programme is deleted !!!!!

If it still won’t stop

Temporarily mute your output device in the system volume mixer to confirm the sound is actually from the computer and not from something like a physical metronome or another device.
If you still hear the tick with Windows muted, check any connected phones, tablets, or hardware metronomes nearby.

I haven't any NCH apps running, I've tried uninstalling /reinstall and turning metronome off, it doesn't do anything. There is NOTHING installed and it still plays. I'll just find another programme this is more trouble than it's worth.

If you used Task Manager <ctrl-shift-esc> and right-clicked each NCH task (if any), then clicked End Task, then it's not Wavepad or another NCH app causing this.
