I'm a real newbie when it comes to recordings. I've searched the tool bars and option settings, the forum, and the help panels without success, but I'm the answer is really basic. When I record from a microphone, the recordings have a regular "tick" noise at roughly 1 second intervals. I figured this was an audio timing mark to help with editing and synchronization, but was surprised to find that it is actually stored in my saved files. If I play it back with other software, even on other machines, the ticks can still be heard. How do I make this noise go away?
I'm running under Windows XP with all the latest maintenance, on a 2.4GHz system with 512M of memory. I've tried two different microphones -- one of pretty good quality.
