Exporting Issue

So I have my video all edited and ready to go, but when I click Export (video File) and go to view it, it is a jumbled mess of things that is not what I had created that is 1hr and 5 minutes long when it should only be 11 minutes.

It seems like it loops itself a bunch of times. ANy suggustions?

Export outputs ONLY what's on the sequence that's active in the timeline. Confirm that there is no extra footage there.

Exported fine using default auto-match 1280x720 settings (YouTube). 14:42.

Here is a picture of how it should look. I just restarted the whole process and now the movie says it is 40 minutes (down from an hour 5)

It seems to restart itself just as it gets to the first overlay...any ideas?

Handled the download in a different way here. Estimated size was 415MB. Download size was 159MB. Exported project weighted in at 157MB. Default mp4 settings.

Your file downloaded OK at 159 Mb. Loaded to VP with no problem and with indicated duration of 13.08 mins.

The timeline previewed with no repeats/loops etc. Exported as mpeg4 H264 1280 x 720 @29.97 fps, again with no problems.VP estimated size as going to be 415Mb

The exported file was in fact 285Mb and had a duration of 13.08 min in VLC, This is the timeline......

These confirm what Borate found. In effect the file exported and played as expected.

Then I'm not sure what is happening on my end, because it still exports the video at a much longer length, over 41 minutes and it seems like it just repeats wherever I have it clipped. I don't understand what is going on.

Something peculiar indeed. Are you running the current version?

The installer for your version should be in "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\VideoPad" Retain it for reinstall if necessary.

The export is available for download for a short while, via the link above.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it seems that for me....when I Overlay a section of the video that is when I run into the issues. If I just straight up clip the video I get the 13.08 time. But when I start playing around and overlaying that is when the saved video some how explodes to 40+ minutes which is disappointing...

Stumped as to what the problem is. Both Nat and I confirm that the project you linked exports normally. If you are not running the latest VP version, consider doing that.

That is disheartening. I was using the most recent edition, but if I cannot create videos the way I want them, then the program is of no use to me. Which is very disappointing because Videopad is just an easy to learn program with tons of great features!

Something is decidedly amiss.

Upload a source file that you have not edited. Post the IN/OUT times of that file that you dropped onto the timeline with the intent to export. Post several examples if you like.

Someone will attempt to duplicate your effort.

I"m after uninstalling the program and deleting the files. I will try one more time and provide pictures and documents and more details if it happens once more.

So firstly here are the pictures of the file. It proves that the edited video should only be 13:08 minutes long.

It would seem that as soon as I make the first overlay, that is when the video resets on top of it, instead of it being trimmed down and repeats for each additional overlay.

Agreed your first link this seems to look like my timeline image and shows .13.08 min. However I am a bit puzzled to note there are no thumbnails visible along the timeline and that the overlays are also blank apart from the last one even though the export is in progress. (compare with my image). Also In your original download there were several clips on the timeline but here I only see 1.I assume that this is different. If you still have the .vpj file you uploaded originally and the component files what do you get with that. Of course that still doesn't explain why an apparently normal timeline won't export correctly.

I am not sure where the second image originates from but it does indicate a 40min duration.

It's very odd that adding an overlay causes the complete clip to play again in the export.when only a segment is shown on the timeline and more so when it exports OK here .

I have notified NCH and am hoping they come in on this asking for some some details.They may want something like the .vpj file of the faulty project and version details etc.

Yes, we can reproduce this bug and already fixed this. A new release is coming soon.

@jack11223344 is this fixed in the 7.0 release just announced? Thanks in advance a so was having a similar problem where it exported the entire video file instead of only the clip that was on the timeline.

So I tried exporting the file again, and it worked perfectly! i'm guessing the update fixed the issue? unsure because I didn't redownload anything, but I am glad it is fixed!
