Single-Clip Speed-Change Leaves Gap

When i increase speed of the first clip in the sequence, it leaves a gap after the clip. The following clips don't shift over to fill the gap.

But if i select the first 2 clips, and increase speed, then the following clips do shift over to fill the gap.

Why?

Checked several times, using 6.31. Doesn't do that here. Always ripples the clips that follow, even if speed is altered (faster or slower) on only the first clip in the sequence.

Hi VP 6.30 works correctly with speed increase . Later clips automatically shuffle back to fill the gap.
