dvf won't load properly

When attempting to load .dvf files the following error message is displayed and the files showing up can not be played.

"Unable to open file. In order ot open dvf or msv files you must have installed the Sony plugin for Windows Player Softtware. To download...

I downloaded and installed the software, rebooted a few times without any change. I can open the files via explorer and they play fine in media player.

I'm sort of stuck at this point... Next step was to uninstall everything and start over.

Any suggestions?

Am having same issues at site I am supporting. Have installed/uninstalled/rebooted tried all sorts of things to no avail.

OS=XPProSP2, WMPv10

Have another system on same network with same OS specs (apart from perhaps less M$ Updates), but that one has no problems whatsoever with playing the .dvf files in Scribe. Only one dictator is used, so no incompatibility is encountered between PC's.

Does anyone have any clues where to go next?

Hi -- where do I find the Sony plug-in for Windows Media Player? My error message says it's on the NCH site, but I can't find it.
