When saving, use the 'save as' function under the File tab. Then you can save to a destination/folder of your choice, and rename it if you wish.
Sorry I can't help you find your file, but I'd suggest opening another, try clicking on the 'save as' and see what appears as the default destination there, maybe that can show you where it went.
