Will Debut capture DV from the Firewire input?

I want to connect a DV source to the Firewire port on my Mac mini and capture as native DV QuickTimes. Will Debut do this?

Hello, We apologize but the program may not be able to recognize the device through the firewire port. In any case we offer a free trial for you to test the program so the best advice is for you to download the program and test it during the trial and if it works as you expect then you may purchase the full version.

Hi I have same problem Firewire doesn't show up on capture devices on Debut Mac. What other way I should try? What kind of cable or adaptor? I have mini dv deck Sony HRV M25E or Sony camcorder VX1000. I'm struggling to capture my clip from tapes as everything is blocked for DV in.
