Using the echo effect without affecting the music

Visage

Hi, I hope you can help. I've used the search function but it hasn't brought anything up that could help my question.

Can the music be removed and just use the vocals with MixPad or WavePad?

Is there another software program for this?

Ultimately I want to use the echo effect without affecting the music.

Hello Visage,

Are you talking about a recording where the music and vocals are already mixed into one final output file?

If so, then I'm afraid there really isn't any reliable way of separating the vocals from the lyrics. WavePad can attempt to do this using its Vocal removal feature, but the results will depend heavily on how the music was originally recorded.

Ben

Thanks Ben. I thought this might have been the case, and yet the little voice in my head kept asking, what it...?

Thanks again.

Hi Visage,

Sorry not to be able to help further. Removing vocals is actually something we are working on at the moment. Hopefully in the future we'll be able to offer a really good solution for you

Regards,

Ben
