Q. What file formats does the converter support?

* mp3 (MPEG Layer 3)
* au
* aif/aiff
* gsm
* vox
* raw
* ogg
* flac

* m4a (not m4a copy protected files)
* mp2 (MPEG Layer 2)
* wma (not wma copy protected files)
* rm / ra / ram
* dvf (Not all dvf recorders are supported)
* msv (Not all msv recorders are supported)
* dss (SP Mode only)
* cda (supported in Switch 1.05 and later versions only)
And from the Switch Help documentation in the freeware version:
General Usage
Adding and Removing Files
To convert your audio files into the desired format, begin by adding files into
the filelist window. Either click the "Add File(s)" button, or select File -> Add File(s) from the menu. If you want to add all the files in a folder, click the "Add Folder" button, or select File -> Add Folder from the menu. In the browse
window that opens, you can look for files that have the following file extensions:
.WAV
.MP3
.OGG
.WMA
.AIF
.AIFF
.AU
.RA
.RAM
.RM
.RMJ
.FLAC
.GSM
.AAC
.M4A
.VOX
.RAW
.DCT
.DSS (SP Mode only) (Switch Plus version only)
.SRI (Switch Plus version only)<snip>
And then again on the website:
Q. Is the Switch Converter really free?
Yes, Switch is free. There is another version of Switch though, called Switch Plus, that requires the purchase of a license. Using the Plus version allows you to do things like save to extra file formats (see the Switch help documentation for further details). Get Switch Plus here.
The free version of Switch also has the additional features of Switch Plus enabled for a 14-day free trial after the software is first installed. If you choose not to purchase the Switch Plus licence upgrade at the end of the free trial period, the advanced features will be disabled but the standard Switch features will continue to work.
So, from what I am reading here, the DSS conversion capabilities of the freeware version of Switch will be disabled in 14 days. Is that correct? I need confirmation one way or the other on this.
Thanks in advance.
