Trying to write a quarter note tied to a triplet followed by two eighth notes and so on.

Program writes the triplet but then adds the next eighth note without separation. Same problem trying to write two eigth notes followed by a triplet. Unable to control the grouping

I'm new to the program, but if after you enter the triplet, you immediately hit the triplet tool to link those three notes, you should be able to add the eigth notes afterwards. I haven't found a solution to keeping an eigth note with a tail, followed by two barred eights. It wants to bar the first two and leave the last one with the tail. Any suggestions would be helpful.
