Do I Need a Special Mic?

I am so thrilled with Voxal Voice Changer! I haven't figured out how to use it yet, though. I want it to change my voice to narrate my documentary and I'm sure it will work. But it doesn't seem to yet. My question is: I have a lapel mic, set to use with Skype, and it works with the VideoPad software. I narrated my whole documentary with it, so I know it works. At present, I get the message "No Active Microphone." Do I need a desktop or headphones mic for Voxal? It doesn't seem to come in clearly, and there doesn't seem to be any connection between my Voxal and my VideoPad. Can someone help me.

You dont need a special micro, you can work with every microphone.

im having the same problem no active mics and there is no option to activate it i have selected my sound card in options but has not made any difference still says no active mics
