Windows 8 Emailing Problems

I have Windows 8 and use MSN (now Outlook) for my email. When I try to email the invoice, it says it can't. I may not have the SMTP set up, but I have tried for two days to find out what the heck they are and cannot find that information for Windows 8. Can someone please help me?

Here is how to set the email functions in Express nvoice

Open your email settings in Express Invoice by clicking Options in the toolbar, select the Other tab, and click the Email Settings button.
Select the radio button labeled "Use SMTP to send email directly to the mail server."
For SMTP mail host, enter the server address. This varies depending on your email client.
- Gmail: smtp.gmail.com
- Yahoo: smtp.mail.yahoo.com or smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk (if email address ends in yahoo.co.uk)
- Hotmail/MSN/Outlook.com smtp.live.com
- AOL: smtp.aol.com
- Comcast: smtp.comcast.net
- Other: Contact your mail provider for your SMTP server address
  
  [*]Check the box labeled "Server requires authentication" and enter your username (e.g., youraddress@gmail.com) and your password.
  
  [*]Check the box labeled "Use secure connection (SSL/TLS) if available." (Comcast users should skip this step)
  
  [*]Enter your email address into the field labeled "Default reply email."
  
  [*]Click OK to save your changes

Thank you so much for replying. I followed all your instructions, but I get "Mail host server error (HELO not accepted.)" It probably has something to do with Windows 8. Everything else is screwed up because of it. If you know of a way around it, I'd be very grateful. Thanks again.

Hi kimber222,

to use your outlook.com email (I am using and outlook.com account on Windows 8 myself) you need to use the following settings:

Use SMTP to send email: Selected

SMTP mail host: smtp.live.com

Server requires authentication: Ticked

User Name: <your outlook.com email address>

Password: <your outlook.com password>

Use Secure Connection (SSL/TLS): Ticked

If server is down, attemtp to send directly: Ticked

Default reply email: <your outlook.com email address>

The instructions on Express Invoice to set up emailing did not work for me if I sent the invoice as an attachment.The email only arrived if the invoice was included in the body of the email.Their instruction is in smtp place print mail.your ip.net.I tried the suggestion above by rmladroma and the emailing is sending the attachment without a problem.Thanks to that post with its instructions

Well, now I know there are at least two of you who can email the invoices with Windows 8. I still get the "Mail Host Server Error (HELO not accepted): 501."

I have followed instructions given, but it still won't work.
