Hi
Your clip, when placed on the timeline is just small enough to fill the line with your current zoom setting. I think you will find that you have your zoom slider set to the right hand end, and so no scroll bar is needed. Zooming in on your clip using the slider, i.e. moving it left will cause the clip to "lengthen" and your scroll bar will appear.
