Clip takes time to cut in between each shot

When playing different shots together they dont run smoothly in between each shot. I was wondering if someone can tell me if i need more memory or is their something else i can do so the different clips run together more smoothly?

Can you give a few details. What exactly happens when the clips play from one to another? What format are your clips? Are you dissolving between clips? etc. Normally clips placed on the sequence line with no transitions simply play from one to the next with no stopping..a straight cut bewtween scenes.
